DIY Wall Art with Nature!

Purchasing wall art can get pretty expensive. Especially when you have a GIANT space over the couch like ours.

For inspiration in all aspects of my life, I turn to Pinterest of course! I came across this creative DIY botanical wall art idea from HomeJelly.com

This is our finished project. It was so easy and SUPER affordable using a few materials and plants from outside! HomeJelly uses mounting board but we decided to go with styrofoam because its cheaper and so much lighter for our apartment walls.

First we cut styrofoam rectangles in various sizes and then glued paper to the front. We painted each rectangle a different color. (Blue, Red, Purple and Peach)

Then we searched outside, right in our backyard, for different shaped plants.

We used spray adhesive to hold each plant down on the rectangles for a nice crisp line. Then spray painted with a few different gold paint sprays over the top of the plants.

When the gold paint was dry, we carefully peeled away the plant and were left with this masterpiece!
